Ontario REALTORS® Donate $100,000 to Support Ukraine Relief Efforts

March 24, 2022 - To support the relief efforts in Ukraine, the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF) announced today that it is donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross through the Canadian Real Estate Association REALTORS Care® campaign.

“As the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine rages on, we recognize the need to support the people of Ukraine in any way we can and that is why we are donating $100,000 to assist in the relief efforts,” said Heather Arnott, ORCF Board President. “Through this donation, Ontario REALTORS® wish to express solidarity with the innocent lives being impacted by the devastation in Ukraine. As part of the global community, we are inspired by the strength and bravery displayed by the people of Ukraine fighting for their freedom and we are hoping for an end to the crisis.”

Ontario Realtors Care Foundation has been a long supporter of Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa.  Habitat for Humanity brings communities together to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. Together, Habitat Greater Ottawa and Realtors Care Foundation, have worked on several developments in the Ottawa area. Not only does the Foundation provide the much needed financial resources, but their team of energetic staff visit our build site annually, roll up their sleeves, and help build.

Raising Money for Youth Shelter

Members of the Kingston and Area Real Estate Association raised $6,500 for the Kingston Youth Shelter through their Annual Charity Bowl-a-thon. Public Relations Committee members Kim Donaldson, Dave Pinnell Jr, and Shawna Stewart delivered the cheque to Kingston Youth Shelter Executive Director Ruth Woodman and staff on May 17th, 2018.

Woodstock, Ont. – On May 2nd, the Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board hosted their 8th Annual REALTORS® Care Food Drive in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Sweaburg for their respective Salvation Army food banks.

There was a total of 115 volunteers plus their families for both events of which 80 were local REALTORS® covering approximately 90 per cent of routes in both towns. “I am very proud of our members and the support they give to this amazing event, which continues to be a great success every year. We want our communities to know that your local REALTORS® are not just real estate representatives, but friends and neighbours who care about our communities,” commented WIDREB President, William Cattle. “I would also like to take the time to personally thank our REALTORS® Care Committee for all their hard work and dedication that they put towards creating such a successful and well received event every year.”
